LAND CONTRIBUTORS

Go Back to Previous Page

Terrestrial Contributors:

What are some land masses that would be considered terrestrial in this situation. The land that would be considered terrestrial in this situation are shores. They may be close to the water but they're not in it.

Marine Contributors:

What are the marine contributors of tides. The tides themselves are part of the marine. In fact, the majority of the definition of tides is part of the marine. Why are the tides themselves part of the marine territory, it's part of water. Without water it would just be dry land sitting there.

Intertidal Zone:

The Intertidal Zone is the portion where the land and water meet eachother where the tide rises and falls. This is where the tide reaches its high and low point.

Celestial Contributors:

The astronomical contributors, (such as the Sun, Moon, and Earth), are very important to tides and really everything in the universe. When the Sun, Moon, and Earth line up in a straight line a Spring Tide happens, which is where the highest and lowest tide is reached. A neap tide is where the Sun, Moon, Earth line up in a 90 degree angle, then the lowest and average heights are reached in the tides.

Additional:

Note: Tides are not the same as waves.

Waves are caused by energy.

Tides are caused by gravitational pull.
